From the Pastor

Friends, Family, and Members of Knoxville Pres,

I'm sorry that you are receiving this so late, but we wanted to touch base before the weekend arrived.

First, this past Sunday we pressed pause on our Kingdom of God series, due to Session Sunday.  However this week we'll pick it back up.  So, take some time this week and read through the Parable of the Mustard Seed and Yeast, Matthew 13:31-33.   One of the things we are doing, as we go through each parable, is drawing out particular attributes of the Kingdom. Each week, I will attempt to remember to include them our weekly email.  The last parable we studied was the Parable of the Wheat and Weeds, and the attribute we brought out, is that the Kingdom of God is here and now.  Remember each parable is being told to respond to a question, often an internal question based on a misperception about the Kingdom.  So, if the Kingdom of God is here and now, what might be the natural question from that, that this following parable set seeks to answer?  Remember, it is going to go against some of the common notions of the Kingdom.

Second, this month, February, is a travel month for me. I will be gone February 8th through the 21st.  We will pick back up on our discussion on the Kingdom of God when I return.
